A “community” theatre and designated Off-Off-Broadway theatre, Elmwood Playhouse produces exceptional live theatre year-round, with a six show season running September to August. We have staged over 300 main stage productions, including 70 musicals, 1 opera, and 4 original world-premiere shows. We run a musical theatre performing arts class for children, stage workshops every month, and have a mentoring program for many production staff positions, We have had approximately 1,570 people onstage, 91 Directors of plays, 116 people as Producers, 215 people served on our Board of Directors, with 23 of them as President, and entertained more than 250,000 audience members in our history.
