This park features both passive and active recreation areas. The lower portion of Cronomer Hill Park features several multi-purpose ball fields and tennis courts, while the upper portion of the park features an observation tower that provides a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding area.

In 1971 the County purchased an additional 70 acres Cronomer Hill Park at Cronomer Hill and began planning the development of sports complex, as a result of acquiring a matching grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund. In 1980, the County dedicated the Cronomer Hill Park complex. With six tennis courts and three multi-purpose fields for soccer, baseball, football and softball, Cronomer Hill became the county’s most popular hub of sports activities. Several other projects took place over the years to further enhance the operations of the park; some of these projects included the development of a passive recreation area with a 30 Observation Tower, plus collaborating with the Town of Newburgh to light the ball fields.
Observation Tower: Located off of Route 32. The 30 foot observation tower on the hill_Ñés summit provides a magnificent panoramic vista of the Hudson River Valley and surrounding area as far as High Point, New Jersey.
Cronomer Hill Park opens in the beginning of April and closes mid November (weather permitting.)
Tennis: Six tennis courts available on a first come-first serve basis.
Ball fields: Three multi-purpose lighted ball fields for baseball, softball,Cronomer Hill Park soccer, flag football, as well as a regulation soccer field. All fields, with the exception of soccer, may be reserved by permit through the Town of Newburgh Recreation Department at (845) 564-7815. To reserve the soccer fields, call (845) 615-3830.
Picnic Area and Playground: The picnic area includes a comfort station, shelter and play equipment. The picnic shelter may be reserved by permit. Call (845) 615-3830 for reservations.
